The East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Thembela Zweni as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 July 2024. Mr Zweni’s appointment marks a significant milestone in the ELIDZ’s journey towards fostering industrial growth and economic development in the Eastern Cape.
Mr Zweni brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the industrial sector, having been with ELIDZ for over 18 years. Throughout his tenure, he has held various executive positions and served as the Chief Operations Officer since 2016. Over the past three months, he has served as the interim CEO, demonstrating exceptional leadership and strategic vision. His tenure as interim CEO has been marked by significant achievements, including enhanced stakeholder engagement, improved operational efficiencies, and a renewed focus on sustainable development.
