Buffalo City is home of world class Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Mercedes Benz South Africa (MBSA) as well as auto component manufacturers: Johnson Controls, Feltex, Venture, TI Automotive, Carcoustics and MC Synchro.

Benz C-Class vehicles to Europe, the East and America. The car terminal has a storage capacity of 2,800 vehicles with planned expansion to 10,000 vehicle bays. Current annual capacity of the car terminal is 50,000 vehicles.
Buffalo City is also the playing field for a number of diverse multi-national corporations including pharmaceutical and cosmetics corporate Johnson and Johnson and food group, Nestle Foods.
